Miley Cyrus is back with brand new single “Midnight Sky’, which recently topped the Billboard’s weekly fan picks chart, beating Dua Lipa, Lil Durk and Kane Brown. The 27-year-old starlet dropped the single as the first of many for her upcoming album, ‘She Is Miley Cyrus’ which will be the follow up from her 2019 EP, ‘She Is Coming’.

The track is an up-tempo, disco inspired sound, infused with Miley’s rich husky vocals that sit atop a hard drum and synth beat. ‘Midnight Sky’ arrives on the back of her break-up with Cody Simpson, with many speculating a lot of the track’s lyrics being inspired by this.

"It's been a long night and the mirror is tellin' me to go home/ But it's been a long time since I've felt this good on my own/ Nine years went by with my hands tied up in your ropes/ Forever and ever, no more,"

Miley hasn’t released a studio album since her 2017 triumph, Younger Now’, which featured hits like ‘Malibu’ and ‘Rainbowland’ which featured her beloved god mother, Dolly Parton. Whilst it was noted during this era Miley changed her image drastically, going by the music video for ‘Midnight Sky’ it appears were getting the return of ‘Bangerz’ Miley, which tbh is everything we need after this year.
