JOY CLUB TEAM UP WITH DALSTON SUPERSTORE, BLUE HYDRANGEA AND MORE IN A PRIDE FILLED MUSIC VIDEO AND TRACK
JULY 3RD 2020
Dance pop duo Joy Club have unveiled the official music video for their debut single "In the Night," an audiovisual homage to the LGBTQA+ community, celebrating people’s differences through the art of dance and song. Joy Club, a new electronic act consisting of Nathan Cross of Grammy Award-nominated production outfit Meduza and James Watts, released "In the Night" back in March 2020.
Directed by Sam Douek, the music video, features proud members of the LGBTQ community dancing in front of playfully kaleidoscopic backdrops, is a vibrant and potent ode to Pride Month. It is created by the London LGBTQA+ clubbing community and centres around pride and celebrating life. It puts a fun spotlight on how LGBTQA+ and drag community may be getting its fix in lockdown, despite not being able to perform or socialise.
The inspiring, fun and empowering video also features Blu Hydrangea, who appeared as a contestant on the first season of celebrated reality television series RuPaul's Drag Race, as well as many of the dancers and drag queens from Dalston Superstore, a cherished LGBTQ London staple with unique art installations, live music shows, and weekend drag brunches.
